The SWELL Wakesurf Creator works with just about any boat including jet boats, inboard or outboard boats. All you need is a flat surface of clear space below the water line of your boat that is ideally 5” high by 13” long.
We recommend getting the product as close to the stern of the boat as you can and simply press the unit firmly against the boat and lock the suction levers. It's a good idea to practice installing and removing the SWELL Wakesurf Creator while the boat is out of the water so you can get familiar with the overall functionality and usage. This will help you find the installation sweet spot on the hull of the boat.
Fill your ballast evenly, there is no need to list your boat to the side when using the SWELL Wakesurf Creator. Start with a 60/40 rear/front split of ballast. More weight in the front makes the wave longer while more weight in the rear makes the wave larger and shorter.
Direct Drive/Mid Mount
The recommended starting weight is 600lbs only in the rear due to the engine being located in the centre of the boat. No extra load is required at the front.
This device does float. You don't have to worry about dropping it. We do include a tether if you want to use it or are worried about it floating away on water with current.
A speed between 10-13mph (16-20kmh) works best for most boats, please do not exceed 14mph (22kmh) as the water pressure created is greater than the suction cup pressure and can result in the Swell Waker Surf unit being dislodged. Practice driving and turning your first time to get used to a bit of steering change with the device on the boat.
